Introducing Schools for Sustainable Futures
Do you want support to embed climate change, nature and sustainability into your curriculum?
Our new programme, Schools for Sustainable Futures, supports schools to embed climate change, nature and sustainability across the curriculum in ways that are meaningful and engaging for teachers and young people. We have developed it this year with schools and are launching a full-scale pilot in 2026-27.
A central principle of the programme is flexibility
During the programme, schools develop a manageable project which embeds climate change, nature and sustainability education into the curriculum. This could range from small-scale (e.g. a sequence of lessons in one or two subjects) to larger projects involving the whole school. The scale of the project is less important than the quality and schools are strongly encouraged to adopt approaches that suit their context
Would you like to be one of the pilot schools?
To apply you will need an outline of a potential project. At this stage this does not need to be detailed and if successful, you may opt to change the project in consultation with your UCL partner.
The deadline to submit the application is Monday 13 July.
Please note that as this is a pilot phase, there will be flexibility in how we assess the applications against the criteria.
