Supporting the Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability Education would enable the next generation of children to better understand the interconnected nature of our world, and have the confidence to navigate our changing planet.
Currently, most classroom teaching around the environment is standalone, isolating the topic, which can make teachers and pupils feel disconnected and powerless in the face of this existential threat. That is why we launched Teaching for Sustainable Futures, delivered by the UCL Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability Education. This unique research-informed professional development programme equips teachers to run the environment as a strand through all ages and subjects. Enabling our children to be able to understand themselves as part of a world where people and nature are interdependent, helps them to connect the dots and have a greater sense of purpose and agency.
We are actively seeking funding and strategic partners to support our work. Your support will help us expand our school network, providing them with essential sustainability guidance, and enable us to continue our work and research to ensure the policies and resources that schools need to achieve their ambitions are in place.
By investing and collaborating, you’ll be investing in and inspiring young people, and supporting a transformative shift towards a greater focus on environmental sustainability in schools across the UK.
