Data use and data privacy
We will collect the following data:
- We will collect your first name and last name to populate your certificate once you have completed a module.
- We will use the email address that you provide to send you the certificate.
- We will ONLY use your first name, last name and email address to contact you about opportunities to participate in research related to Teaching for Sustainable Futures if you check the box allowing us to do so.
We will track module participation using secure server-based session tracking, but we will remove IP addresses so that progress cannot be attributed to specific people. If you consent to being contacted by us (see 3, above), we may contact you to ask you to tell us about your experience of working through the module.
All data will be kept secure and confidential in accordance with data protection legislation (UK GDPR and DPA 2018). Your details will be used by CCCSE for the purposes described in (1) and (2) above. We will minimise the processing of personal data wherever possible. Your data will be stored for a minimum of five years and maximum of ten years, after which time, it will be deleted. This privacy notice sets out details that apply to Teaching for Sustainable Futures. Further information on how UCL uses your data can be found in our ‘general’ privacy notice here. Combined, these privacy notices contain the information that must be provided to participants under data protection legislation (UK GDPR and DPA 2018). The UCL Data Protection Officer provides oversight of UCL activities involving the processing of personal data.
